The Whive Network is now live with the first block being created at 19:39:20 UTC on Sunday 02/02/2020.
Whive, is a peer-to-peer blockchain protocol that is incentivizing the building of sustainable energy solutions through Trustless Rewards.
The protocol achieves this through a hybrid Proof-of-Work(POW) & Proof-Of-Stake(POS) consensus algorithm that favors devices with CPU(small) processors & are located in regions with a high solar reliability index.
This means by becoming a network participant you shall be able to earn Trustless Rewards that are mined when you run the Whive software.
Encapsulated immutably in the Genesis Block is the statement, “Trustless Rewards for Sustainable Energy Adoption — UN SDGs 7 9 11 13”. Which represents our goal to create a protocol that powers the engineering and adoption of distributed solar energy systems in the parts of the World where it is needed the most.
The Whive Protocol being operational is now entering the Community Audit phase, where the Whive Community shall spend an estimated 6–9 months improving/updating some of the key features, doing thorough security checks and creating comprehensive documentation which will culminate in a peer-reviewed paper called the “Whive Protocol Green Paper”.
The Community includes engineers from around the world, from countries such as Kenya, Burundi, DRC, Canada, USA, and Azerbaijan.
BitHub Africa, the Blockchain incubator that has supported the research and development of the protocol, shall soon launch a Blockchain Engineering Curriculum based on the protocol that will train engineers to support its Distributed Energy Solution, Melanin Solar.
